Painting

We found out that Zatanna loves to paint. All she wants to do lately is paint. She has so much fun. She has been working hard on Christmas presents for everyone.

Meeting Santa

We met Santa! So the meeting didn't go quite as expected. Last year she loved Santa so we were hoping that would continue, unfortunatley it didn't. She is very interested in Santa until he turns his full attention to her. As soon as he does that she gets shy. She loved her dress and shoes. I think the shoes were her absolute favorite. The only problem is that they are too big so every time it falls off I hear: Shoo, Shoo.

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Due to all the snow that we have been getting we have not been able to get a Christmas tree. So Art and I decided to pull out the fake tree this year. We wanted Zatanna to experience decorating the tree. The first thing Zatanna wanted to do was decorate the tree with stuffed animals. I found out last night that my daughter has stuffed animal radar. I was in the closet getting out the tree and decorations and randomly Zatanna finds this Easter duck that is in the corner of the closet in an Easter basket. No clue how she saw it, but she did and he is now out celebrating Christmas.

I got this plate a couple of years ago. When we unpacked it I told Zatanna that we use this to plate to put out cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve. After my explanation of what we do she took the plate headed right for her dad in the kitchen and asked for a cookie.

She had fun trying to put the angel on the tree. Unfortunately the top of the tree would not hold the angel.

Then Zatanna wanted to try putting the lion on the top of the tree.

As I started unpacking the ornaments to figure out which ones could go on the tree, Zatanna kept asking for the ornaments and wandering over to her desk with them. When we finally looked to see what she was doing with them we found this.

We allowed Zatanna to decide where all the ornaments went on the tree. She really enjoyed herself. Here is a picture of Zatanna with the final product.

Playing with Stuffies

Once again we had a great day playing with Zatanna's stuffed animals. While Mommy made cookies and Daddy tried to watch some football, Zatanna was busy moving and rearranging her stuffed animals around the living room. She has such a great time playing with all of them.

Daddy's hunting hat

While moving some stuff around in the closet I found Art's hat he wore for hunting last year. Remembering the cute pictures that we go of Zatanna wearing her daddy's hat I decided to try to recreate the magic. All did not go as planned. Zatanna was much more interested in her new necklaces than the hat. When she realized the hat was on and I was trying to get her picture she wanted to rip it off. It took several tried to get the two pictures that I was able to take.

Decorating for Christmas

So decorating for Christmas has become a challenge with Zatanna around. She loved the Christmas stuffed animals and the other interesting decorations. As I pulled things from the boxes she wanted to inspect them immediately. She has so much fun playing with the snow family that Great Grandma Mosher made when she was born, the Santa that was mine when I was a baby and the singing reindeer stocking. Although I didn't get much decorating done it was so much fun seeing Zatanna with all the decorations.
